Beginning on Feb. 28, 2026, the United States and Israel have been engaged in a full-scale military conflict with Iran after launching coordinated strikes – designated “Operation Epic Fury” by the U.S. and “Operation Roaring Lion” by Israel – targeting Iranian military, nuclear, and leadership sites, including in Tehran.

In response, the Islamic Republic of Iran has launched extensive retaliatory strikes against Israeli territory and U.S. military targets throughout the Middle East, dramatically widening the conflict. What began as a strategic assault has rapidly evolved into a broader war, underscoring what ALL ISRAEL NEWS Editor-in-Chief Joel Rosenberg describes as a critical miscalculation by Iranian leadership.

Speaking to TBN host Erick Stakelbeck, Rosenberg, who also hosts TBN’s THE ROSENBERG REPORT, said the regime’s decision to attack Sunni Arab nations across the Middle East marked a “tectonic shift” in the region – one that could reshape alliances for years to come.

Rosenberg argued that Tehran had made a series of “major strategic errors” following U.S. President Donald Trump’s military action targeting Iran’s leadership and offensive capabilities.

“These are tectonic shifts in the region,” Rosenberg told Stakelbeck, saying that the regime’s first mistake was dismissing Trump’s warnings.

“They didn’t believe that President Trump was going to keep his word and destroy their offensive military capabilities and take them down if they didn’t make a serious, strong, verifiable deal,” he said, calling the miscalculation “catastrophic.”

According to Rosenberg, Iran’s second strategic blunder was expanding its retaliation beyond Israel.

“If they had just retaliated against Israel, then they would be sending the message throughout the region that really this is an Iran-Israel fight,” he explained. “But what they’ve done – the Iranian regime has attacked 16 nations throughout the entire Middle East.”

He noted that several moderate Sunni Arab states had recently signaled neutrality. However, after coming under missile and drone fire, Rosenberg said those same nations were now aligned with Washington and Jerusalem.

“All of them are now unified with President Trump and with Israel against the Iranian regime,” he said. “This is a big deal.” He added, “I think the Sunni Arabs should actually militarily get involved in destroying the Iranian regime with us,” he stated.

During the interview, Rosenberg reflected on the timing of events, which coincided with the Jewish holiday of Purim – commemorating the biblical account of the defeat of Haman, a Persian official who plotted to annihilate the Jewish people.

When asked whether he saw spiritual significance in the timing, he responded, “I absolutely do. This is not coincidence,” and drew a parallel between ancient Persia and modern Iran.

“The fact that this is Purim and that the death of Haman, and now we have the death of [Iran’s supreme leader], this is like – I think it’s prophetic. I think it’s biblical,” Rosenberg said.

He added that Trump would “go down as not only a historic figure, but a historic American leader of biblical proportions.” Rosenberg acknowledged that he had once opposed Trump politically. “Eight years ago, I was a Never Trumper, and I changed my mind because I saw President Trump keeping his word,” he told Stakelbeck.

He emphasized that the U.S. president was acting primarily in America’s national interest.

“President Trump is not doing it for Israel,” Rosenberg said. “President Trump is doing this for the United States – to protect American lives, American interests – but also American allies, which Israel is the most important American ally in the Middle East.”

He added that Trump was not listening to isolationist or anti-Israel voices within conservative circles. “President Trump is not listening to them at all. And God bless him for it,” Rosenberg said.

Beyond geopolitics, Rosenberg pointed to what he described as a profound spiritual transformation taking place within Iran, saying, “We are seeing a spiritual awakening.”

Rosenberg argued that widespread disillusionment with the regime had led many Iranians to abandon Islam altogether. “If the leaders of Iran are the most special and perfect Muslim leaders in the world, then they don’t want to be Muslims anymore,” he said. “They’re abandoning Islam.”

While some were turning to atheism or agnosticism, Rosenberg said “millions are turning to faith in Jesus Christ.”

“It is the single greatest spiritual awakening going on in the Muslim world, certainly in the Middle East,” he added.

Rosenberg also referenced his previous interview with Reza Pahlavi, the exiled crown prince and son of the late shah, in April 2023, just six months before the surprise Oct. 7 invasion and attack on southern Israel by the Hamas terrorist organization. He recalled that, during their conversation, Pahlavi expressed interest in forging peace with the Jewish state.

“One of the questions now that the Supreme Leader is gone is who will lead Iran going forward,” Rosenberg said. While cautioning that it was too early to predict Iran’s next leader, he urged audiences to become familiar with opposition figures.

Rosenberg noted that Pahlavi had spoken about pursuing what he called a “Cyrus Accords” agreement with Israel – invoking the ancient Persian king Cyrus the Great, who allowed the Jewish people to return to Jerusalem and rebuild the Temple.

“I think the Iranian people are going to thank the Israeli people for liberating them just the way Israeli Jews thank King Cyrus, the great Persian leader, for liberating us so many years ago,” Rosenberg told Stakelbeck.
