Missile impacts in central Israel today injured several people as the war with Iran continues.

Many of the injuries appear to be from the use of cluster munitions, whose use in civilian areas represents a war crime.

Two people were lightly injured in Holon, in central Israel, in a missile attack early Sunday morning, in which a man in his eighties was treated for light injuries due to glass shards, while a woman in her eighties was treated for smoke inhalation.

Later Sunday morning, two men in their fifties were lightly injured after cluster munitions targeted several communities in central Israel, including Ramat Gan, Petah Tikvah, and Tel Aviv.

Three people were taken to Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv with mild injuries from the falls in the Tel Aviv area, emergency services reported.

Later in the day, a man in his sixties was moderately injured by shards of glass after a cluster munition hit his apartment building. Additionally a man in his seventies was lightly injured following a blast in Ramat Gan.

Magen David Adom emergency medic Moshe Weinman, who worked at the scene in Bnei Brak, said, "We arrived at the scene of a fall with destruction to a building. Shattered glass on the floor, smoke and commotion. We treated one patient in moderate condition, about 60 years old, with wounds from glass shards.”

A man in Beni Brak was injured when shrapnel from a missile hit next to his car.

Tel Aviv police district Brigadier General Jihad Hassan said that while the missile hit a building with a bomb shelter, the only person injured was the man in his car.

“We are combing the area to make sure there are no other arenas. This is a direct fall inside a building,” Hassan stated. “Residents were inside the house, and although there is no protected space in these buildings, the only injured person in the area was the civilian who was inside the vehicle.”

Several fires were also started when vehicles which were hit by shrapnel burst into flames.

Besides the missile fire from Iran, there have ben multiple launches from Hezbollah in Lebanon, towards Israel’s northern communities. At time of publication, there were no injuries from Hezbollah rockets reported.

While Israeli officials have said that number of rockets being launched towards Israel in each barrage is low, the use of cluster munitions is frustrating the attempts to intercept the rockets.

The Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) said that Iran has carried out about 227 waves of attacks against Israel since the beginning of the war, including over 290 missiles and around 500 drones. According to its estimates, about half of the ballistic missiles have used cluster warheads.

At the same time, about 379 waves of attacks have been carried out by Hezbollah against Israel, including over 400 rockets and several drones.

The INSS said that the damage to Iran’s missile infrastructure is clearly noticeable after two weeks of war, with a 90% drop in ballistic missile launches and an 83% drop in drone attacks since the start of the war.
