15 Israelis wounded by Iranian missiles as US & Israel prepare to strike regime's energy targets within less than 48 hours

With U.S. President Donald Trump repeating his deadline for a deal with the Iranian regime while escalating his threats to “blow everything up over there,” the Iranian missile fire on Israel continued unabated, with over 15 people being wounded in strikes on Sunday.

In Haifa, a missile struck a house on Sunday evening, wounding nine people. An elderly man was found in serious condition, while eight others were lightly injured, Magen David Adom (MDA) reported, adding that there were still three people unaccounted for at the time of publication.

Resident Vered Ohana, who was near the impact, told Ynet News: “It was a crazy boom – it was clear this was a direct hit. There is extensive destruction all around, and there is still smoke.” Dudu Mashali, another neighbor, added, “I thought my house was hit. It was a loud explosion, and I was sure my house had been struck.”

The Fire and Rescue Authority said the building caught fire from the missile impact, adding that it was at risk of collapsing entirely.

The missile strike in Haifa came after an earlier attack near the northern city of Nahariya left six people wounded when a missile exploded close to a vehicle, injuring the passengers from the shockwave and forcing several others to be treated for acute shock.

Earlier on Sunday, debris from an intercepted missile struck the Neot Hovav Industrial Zone south of Beersheba for the third time during the war. The site includes a toxic waste dump, but the Fire and Rescue Service later confirmed that no hazardous materials were released, and that the shockwave and missile debris caused only minor damage to a factory building.

The continued missile fire came against the backdrop of U.S. President Donald Trump escalating his threats against the Iranian regime while simultaneously signaling optimism that a deal would be struck before the end of his deadline on Tuesday, 8 p.m. EST.

U.S. President Donald Trump began his rhetoric with a profanity‑laden post on Truth Social, writing: “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the F––n’ Strait, you crazy ba––ds, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah.”

Shortly after this, the Axios news outlet published an interview in which Trump said that a deal could be reached soon: “There is a good chance, but if they don't make a deal, I am blowing up everything over there.”

He also explained that the strike on a bridge on Wednesday was in response to what he saw as Iranian leaders attempting to drag out the negotiations.

“The negotiations are going well, but you never get to the finish line with the Iranians,” Trump said, adding he felt that an agreement to hold direct negotiations had been close before the strike.

“But then they said they will meet us in five days. So I said, 'Why five days?' I felt they were not being serious. So I attacked the bridge,” he said.

The report added that Pakistani, Egyptian, and Turkish mediators have pledged to continue working until the last minute, but they are not optimistic that even a partial deal will be reached.

In another interview with Fox News, Trump said a deal could be reached on Monday, while he told the Wall Street Journal, “If they don’t come through, if they want to keep [the Strait of Hormuz] closed, they’re going to lose every power plant and every other plant they have in the whole country.”

Despite this, Kan News reported late on Sunday that Israel believes Iranian leaders will not yield and that Trump will ultimately authorize strikes on energy and national infrastructure targets.

Kan cited a foreign diplomat from a country with extensive ties to Iran who asserted, “They will not surrender to Trump’s ultimatum.”
