PM Netanyahu lists ‘10 plagues’ Israel brought over Iranian regime, while Trump continues to signal quick end to the war

Israel has crushed Iran's regime's 'industrial capacity to produce' nuclear weapons and missiles, says PM

Israel has removed the dual threat of Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the nation ahead of the Passover holiday, which begins on Wednesday evening.

Alongside the “ten plagues” he said Israel had brought over the regime, Netanyahu also listed ten accomplishments of the month-long campaign, including “crushing the regime's industrial capacity to produce” nuclear weapons and missiles.

The prime minister’s listing of accomplishments comes as U.S. President Donald Trump continues to signal that he seeks to wrap up the war, even as the Strait of Hormuz remains closed and more U.S. troops, along with another aircraft carrier, are being deployed to the region.

Over the past few days, Trump has shifted responsibility for opening the strait to U.S. allies, who he argues need the oil carried through the waterway more than the United States.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Trump said he believes the Strait of Hormuz “will be very safe, but we have nothing to do with that.”

In addition, he dismissed the possibility that the Iranian regime could access the uranium stockpiles buried under the rubble at several nuclear sites. In an interview with CBS, Trump said he doesn’t “even think about” the stockpiles.

“I just know that it’s so deeply buried it’s going to be very hard for anybody” to reach it, he said, effectively declaring another major military goal as accomplished.

Following the president’s logic, there will not be a lot left for the U.S. military to achieve.

“The regime doesn’t have to make a deal,” Trump told reporters at the White House, adding that the U.S. would be “leaving very soon … maybe two weeks, maybe three.”

“When we feel that they are… put into the stone ages and won’t be able to come up with a nuclear weapon, then we’ll leave, whether we have a deal or not.”

Netanyahu’s address appeared to lay the foundations for explaining a possible swift end of the war to the Israeli public, with its focus on the accomplishments that had already been achieved.

“My brothers and sisters, citizens of Israel, on the eve of this Festival of Freedom, Israel is stronger than ever,” Netanyahu declared at the start.

The ayatollah regime invested “nearly a trillion dollars” to achieve its “murderous ambitions through the development of nuclear programs and ballistic missiles, the funding and arming of terror proxies around us, and by weathering the heavy sanctions imposed upon it… That trillion has gone down the drain,” said Netanyahu.

“In the spirit of the upcoming Passover holiday, since the beginning of the ‘War of Redemption,’ we have dealt ten plagues upon the Axis of Evil,” he continued.

“The blow to Hamas in Gaza, the blow to Hezbollah in Lebanon, the blow to Assad in Syria, the blow to terrorist organizations in Judea and Samaria, the blow to the Houthis in Yemen, and five more blows to Iran: The blow to their nuclear program, the blow to their missiles, the blow to the regime's infrastructure, the blow to the forces of oppression, and the 'Plague of the Firstborn,' or in our case, the blow to the senior leadership.”

However, Netanyahu noted that the Pharaoh continued trying to harm the people of Israel after the plagues, “and we all know how that ended… The campaign is not yet over, but even now it can be said that against the ten plagues suffered by our enemies, we have achieved ten great accomplishments.”

Netanyahu went on to list the accomplishments, including awakening the world to the danger posed by the regime, strengthening the alliance with the U.S. and other countries, breaking the power of the Iranian proxies surrounding Israel, and establishing security zones along the borders in Gaza, Syria and Lebanon.

He also addressed the question of the regime’s stability, which doesn’t appear to have been significantly weakened yet. Netanyahu said Israel “undermined the foundations of the terrorist regime,” vowing that “sooner or later, it is destined to fall.”

In addition, he noted that the two existential threats to Israel had now been removed, referring to the two operations in Iran.

“In 'Rising Lion,' we pushed away the immediate threat of Iran arming itself with nuclear weapons and numerous ballistic missiles, and in 'Roaring Lion’ we achieved a complementary success by crushing the regime's industrial capacity to produce these instruments of destruction.”

He noted that one main reason for starting the war was to prevent Iran from transferring its nuclear and missile production capacity deep underground, where fortified facilities could make it harder to disrupt those programs.

As a lesson from past years, Netanyahu also stressed, “We changed our security concept. We are the ones who attack and initiate, and we are the ones who surprise our enemies.”

“Citizens of Israel, we achieved these brilliant accomplishments thanks to you... Together, we have turned Israel into a regional power, and in certain fields, even a global power. We achieved this thanks to our brave commanders and fighters in the regular and reserve forces, thanks to the fallen heroes of Israel, thanks to your steadfastness, citizens of Israel,” said the prime minister.

“In the Passover Haggadah, it is said: 'And it is this that has stood for our forefathers and for us, for not only one has risen against us to destroy us, but the Holy One, Blessed be He, saves us from their hand.' The heritage of Israel and our right to our land is what stood for our ancestors, and it is what stands for us. The nation stands firm, and we must all continue to stand firm, and thus, with G-d's help, we will ensure the eternity of Israel.”
