Israeli diaspora minister warns of new Qatar-Turkey-Pakistan axis following Iran war

Muslim Brotherhood, at heart of new ‘axis of evil,’ poses danger to West and Middle East

Speaking at the JNS International Policy Summit, Israel’s Diaspora minister warned of an Islamic caliphate, through the work of the Muslim Brotherhood, which has begun spreading in the West.

“The Muslim Brotherhood plays not only in CAIR, AMP, SJP, Michigan, Texas. We are all following the vision of America as a Muslim state in 100 years. We all know the plans,” Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism Minister Amichai Chikli told those gathered at the summit.

Chikli warned that the nations involved in mediation between the United States and Iran are working to create a new Muslim Brotherhood “Sunni axis.”

“The Muslim Brotherhood are also major players on the global map,” Chikli continued. “Qatar is the PR state of the Muslim Brotherhood with Al-Jazeera and AJ plus, by the way, bashing the president of the US 24/7, that's Qatar.”

He also focused attention on Turkey, which has emerged as a regional rival to Israel and a base for senior Hamas leaders and operatives.

Chikli said Turkey is being led by “a very dangerous vision” based on two components: an expansionist neo-Ottomanism, which seeks to “rebuild the Ottoman Empire” and “the Islamist vision of the caliphate.”

The Neo-Ottoman threat, primarily directed at Greece, Cyprus, and Israel, is clearly seen in the “blue homeland” legislation, which seeks to limit Greece's naval territory.

Chikli pointed to statements made by the Turkish Minister of Interior, who reportedly said he dreams of becoming the governor of Jerusalem.

“So they want Jerusalem to be once again a province in the new Ottoman Empire,” Chikli said.

“The second thing is the Islamist vision of the caliphate,” Chikli continued. “It's a religious Ottoman empire.”

He said Turkish support for Syrian dictator Ahmed Al-Sharaa is proof.

“I think that Turkey of Erdoğan and Syria of Al-Sharaa are now far more concerning than Iran,” Chikli added, referring to Turkey's president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

“The era of the Shiite empire of Iran, Assad, Syria, and Hezbollah is over,” he announced. “The new axis is the Muslim Brotherhood axis of Erdoğan's Turkey, Syria, and Qatar. And it's better to get awake and to open your eyes now before it is too late.”

Chikli raised similar concerns on Israel's Radio 103 FM about the development of a new Sunni axis following the weakening of Iran.

“I want to say that I am less concerned by the restoration of Iran's economy, which in itself is concerning. Much more concerning is the axis that forged the agreement: Qatar, Turkey, Pakistan. What we see before our eyes is not the strengthening of Iran. In my opinion, Iran will take a very long time to restore and recover. What we are seeing is the rise of a new axis, the new axis of evil.”

“The new axis of evil, a radical Sunni axis, is as dangerous as it gets, and in my eyes, the most painful point is a country I didn't name, which on the eve of the October 7th, we saw on the verge of signing the Abraham Accords with, and it's Saudi Arabia that chose to go into a lopsided alliance with Pakistan, and also chose to join this axis.”

As in his remarks at the JNS summit, Chikli refused to condemn U.S. President Donald Trump over his negotiation of the Memorandum of Understanding with Iran.

When challenged by the interviewers on the radio show, Chikli responded, “I suggest looking at a broad historical perspective. The fact that Trump is currently going for a bad agreement from the perspective of the State of Israel does not erase for him the lifting of the embargo that made it difficult for us, the embassy in Jerusalem, and the Abraham Accords. However, Trump is going after the strong influence that Qatar and Turkey have. He has a blind spot regarding what motivates Erdoğan.”

During the JNS Summit, Chikli said of Trump, “I think we never had such a friend in the White House," adding that it is doubtful “if we're going to have someone like him in the future in the White House.”

“I want to say thank you for the embassy in Jerusalem, for the Golan Heights, for the Abraham Accords, for Qassem Soleimani, for [Operation] Rising Lion, for the war that we have done together,” Chikli said of Trump.

However, addressing two of Trump’s key envoys in the negotiations, Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, Chikli struck a more critical tone.

“There is a blurring between interests that may be American economic and other interests, and the ability to put on ideological glasses and understand the magnitude of the danger posed by the Muslim Brotherhood movement.”
