'Great Satan': US arrests, prepares to expel relatives of slain IRGC Gen Soleimani for praising Iranian regime from homes in LA
Rubio: Afshar & daughter were 'living lavishly in the US while celebrating attacks on Americans'
While U.S. troops are actively fighting the Iranian regime, whose famous slogan is “Death to America,” dozens of reports indicate that dozens of children and relatives of the regime’s senior leadership are "living lavishly" in the United States.
On Saturday, the U.S. State Department announced that the niece of slain Iranian Quds Force commander Qasem Soleimani, along with her daughter, was detained by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) pending their forced removal from the U.S., as authorities begin to tackle this bizarre situation.
“Last night, the niece and grand niece of deceased Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Major General Qasem Soleimani were arrested by federal agents following Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s termination of their lawful permanent resident (LPR) status,” the State Department announced.
Soleimani’s niece, Hamideh Soleimani Afshar, “is an outspoken supporter of the totalitarian, terrorist regime in Iran,” the statement noted, citing “both press reporting and her own social media commentary.”
Until recently, Hamideh Soleimani Afshar and her daughter were green card holders living lavishly in the United States.

Afshar is the niece of deceased Iranian Major General Qasem Soleimani. She is also an outspoken supporter of the Iranian regime who celebrated attacks on…
“While living in the United States, she promoted Iranian regime propaganda, celebrated attacks against American soldiers and military facilities in the Middle East, praised the new Iranian Supreme Leader, denounced America as the ‘Great Satan,’ and voiced her unflinching support for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, a designated terror organization.”
“Afshar Soleimani pushed this propaganda for Iran’s terrorist regime while enjoying a lavish lifestyle in Los Angeles, as attested to by her frequent posting on her recently deleted Instagram account,” the State Department wrote, adding that Afshar’s husband was barred from entering the U.S.
Soleimani was eliminated by the U.S. in 2020. At the time, he was seen as a legendary figure within the regime, having orchestrated the “Axis of Resistance” comprising dozens of armed proxy militias who effectively controlled Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Yemen. He was also rumored to be Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei’s favorite to succeed him.

U.S. President Donald Trump said last Wednesday, “I killed Gen Qasem Soleimani in my first term. He was an evil genius, brilliant person, a horrible human being however, the father of the roadside bomb, and he lived just horrible, what he did.”
In addition to Soleimani’s relatives, the U.S. also terminated the legal status of Fatemeh Ardeshir-Larijani, daughter of former Iranian secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, and her husband, Seyed Kalantar Motamedi.
“Both are no longer in the United States and are barred from future entry,” Assistant Secretary of State for Global Public Affairs Dylan Johnson wrote on 𝕏.

Larijani was reportedly a key figure in running the regime in the months before the war and was killed in an airstrike several weeks ago.
The expulsions put a spotlight on the unusual situation in which dozens of relatives of high-level officials of a regime that calls the U.S. the “Great Satan” are permanently living there.
In another example, Jason Brodsky, policy director at the United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) think tank, wrote on 𝕏: “The son of Masoumeh Ebtekar, who was one of the hostage takers in 1979 who seized the U.S. embassy, has been living in California. Ali Larijani's daughter has lived in Ohio. The list goes on.”
The State Department is seemingly aware of this phenomenon, vowing that “The Trump Administration will not allow our country to become a home for foreign nationals who support anti-American terrorist regimes.”
