Trump: No sanctions relief for Iran – ‘I'm not offering them anything nor am I even talking to them!’

No negotiations until approval from leader Khamenei, Iranian sources say

U.S. President Donald Trump denied reports that he had offered sanctions relief to the Iranian regime, adding that there are no negotiations with Iran at this time.

Meanwhile, the Iranian regime has been signaling its complete rejection of any compromise over its destroyed nuclear program, with reports suggesting that officials are still awaiting instructions from Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote that he wasn’t “offering Iran ANYTHING, unlike Obama, who paid them $Billions under the stupid ‘road to a Nuclear Weapon JCPOA’ (which would now be expired!), nor am I even talking to them since we totally OBLITERATED their Nuclear Facilities.”

During an interview with Fox News, Trump reiterated that Iran’s nuclear program had been “obliterated like nobody’s ever seen before” by Israeli and U.S. strikes.

“That meant the end to their nuclear ambitions, at least for a period of time,” the U.S. president said, adding, “The bomb went through it like it was butter, like it was absolute butter.”

“The last thing they want to do right now is think about nuclear. They have to put themselves back into condition and shape.”

So far, Iranian regime officials have shown no indication of willingness to sign new agreements or commit to abandoning their nuclear ambitions.

According to a Jerusalem Post report, officials are still awaiting instructions on the matter from Supreme Leader Khamenei, who allegedly has not surfaced since he went into hiding during the Israeli strikes in Iran.

The source stated that, despite public claims to the contrary, Iran’s leadership is interested in negotiating with the Trump administration but is awaiting approval from Khamenei.

The ayatollah was reported to have entered a secret underground bunker with his family at the start of the war. He has only appeared in three video messages since then, but has not yet been seen in person.

The source added that it remains unclear whether the absence of Khamenei’s approval reflects his opposition to negotiations or simply a breakdown in communication.

On Monday, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi demanded that the U.S. publicly rule out renewing strikes against Iran to pave the way for new negotiations.

Takht-Ravanchi told the BBC network that the U.S. “has not made their position clear.” Trump issued multiple warnings that the United States could launch additional strikes if the Iranian regime attempts to revive its nuclear program. He vowed Iran would “insist” on enrichment capabilities, emphasizing this would be for “peaceful purposes.”

Trump reaffirmed his commitment to preventing Iran from advancing its enrichment capabilities.

"They said, 'We want enrichment.' Enrichment doesn't mean like air conditioning and it doesn't mean to jack up your car. Enrichment is a bad word ... I wouldn't let that happen," he said during the Sunday interview with Fox News.

On Monday, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei renewed threats against the International Atomic Energy Agency, warning that the safety of its inspectors in Iran could no longer be guaranteed.

Further highlighting Iran’s hostile stance despite the ceasefire, Iranian state media quoted army chief Maj.-Gen. Abdolrahim Mousavi who expressed uncertainty over the long-term stability of the ceasefire with Israel.

Mousavi voiced “serious doubts about the enemy’s commitment to its obligations, including the ceasefire,” adding that Iran's armed forces were prepared to respond forcefully “if aggression is repeated.”
