Ukraine's President Zelensky visits Syria, vows increased security cooperation
Ukraine and Syria vowed to increase their security cooperation on Sunday, as President Volodymyr Zelensky continued his tour of Middle East countries - which doesn't include Israel - in the Syrian capital of Damascus on Sunday.
After meeting with his Syrian counterpart, Ahmed al-Sharaa, Zelensky wrote on Telegram, “We agreed to work together to provide more security and opportunities for development for our societies.”
“We managed to discuss everything: from security and defense issues and the situation in the region due to all the events around Iran to energy and infrastructure cooperation between our countries,” he added.
Over the past few weeks, Zelensky toured several Gulf countries to offer support for their anti-drone defense systems, drawing on years of experience in the war against Russia.
