Why a 'two-state solution' is a completely irrational idead

While Trump’s “Twenty-Point Gaza Peace Plan” unfolds, there are still those demanding a “two-state solution.” They remind me of an old cowboy I once knew. Bill was a rancher in the area of Texas where I grew up. He was a friendly and good-natured cowboy but had a drinking problem. One day, Bill was at a horse event at a private ranch arena and was quite drunk. He was sitting on his horse—telling stories and laughing—when another guy decided he would pull a prank on him. He unfastened the girth and the flank strap of Bill’s saddle. When Bill was ready to ride off, he sharply turned his horse while jabbing his spurs into him. The saddle, saddle blanket, and Bill all slid off on the ground in one neat package—with his boots still in the stirrups. He was so drunk that he kept on kicking and spurring as if he was still on his horse!

These people who are still calling for a “two-state solution” in the aftermath of the October 7 massacre are much like Bill in his saddle on the ground—ideologically drunk with their cries and as meaningless as kicking and spurring in the air. PA President Abbas recently said, “I hope the [Trump plan] agreement is a prelude to the establishment of a Palestinian state.” Never mind that he walked away from a generous proposal in 2008, as they have done in 1936/37, 1947/48, 1967, 2000, and Trump’s “Deal of the Century” in 2020. President Clinton said of the Camp David Summit in 2000, “Arafat was here 14 days and said no to everything.”

The Trump Plan is an End to a Palestinian State, Not a “Prelude”

Abbas seems to be oblivious to the fact that this agreement is in essence ending a 20-year Palestinian state experiment! That discussion is over. Israel let them have their own state in Gaza in 2005, and it brought about the worst atrocities against the Jewish people since the Holocaust. There will never be another Palestinian state. Some say, “But that was Hamas; the Palestinian people in the West Bank are good people.” According to a poll conducted in the West Bank (Judea and Samaria) by the Palestinian Center for Policy Survey and Research (PCPSR), 72% of those Palestinians said the October 7 attacks were “correct.”

There have even been world leaders that have pledged their support for the idea—including Macron (France), Starmer (U.K.), Carney (Canada), and Albanese (Australia). My message to these leaders is that the four of them should get together and decide which one of their countries is going to provide an area of land for this new Palestinian state! It’s especially disappointing that the U.K. is on that list, since they gave us the Balfour Declaration (1917) that paved the way for the establishment of a Jewish state. And it’s quite rich coming from Starmer, considering the fact that Muslims have poured into his open borders and are unwilling to assimilate. They are literally taking over his country right under his nose. This video is shocking.

“All You Need is Love”

The Beatles famously sang this phrase in 1967, but is that always true in the sense that many Christians think? And what would that look like where the Palestinians are concerned? Wouldn’t love want to protect the next 1,200 hundred Israelis who would die in a future attack? They cite scriptures like Leviticus 19:33-34 that says, “Do not take advantage of foreigners who live among you in your land. Treat them like native-born Israelites.” And Exodus 12:49: “One law shall be for the native-born and for the stranger who dwells among you.” That all sounds reasonable on the surface, but they are ignorant of numerous underlying truths in the Bible.

In the Tanakh (Old Testament), the English words for immigrants, including “sojourners,” “foreigners,” and “visitors” are translated from several different Hebrew words in the original text. They have different meanings, some referring to desirable immigrants and some to undesirable. The Hebrew word transliterated as “ger” was a good immigrant, which is the word used in the aforementioned verses.

The Hebrew words transliterated as “nokre” and “zur” were undesirable immigrants and did not possess the same benefits as a “ger.” There was yet another Hebrew word transliterated as “toshav” that appears to have been a similar status to Green Card or Visa residents. This word is sometimes translated “resident alien” (AMP) or “temporary resident” (NLT). They certainly didn’t have drones, cameras, radar, and night goggles at their disposal, but they demanded that foreigners obtain permission before entering and to assimilate into their society. In fact, God warned them about evil nations that would not assimilate (see Deuteronomy 7:1-5). Let’s not forget that “the Palestinians” are Arab immigrants from Jordan, Egypt, and other Arab countries. There is no Palestinian race! Yasser Arafat himself was born in Egypt, according to his own biographer. They are definitely not the “ger” immigrants referred to in Leviticus 19:33-34 and Exodus 12:49. So, stop the virtue signaling!

”Take the Talent From Him”

And there’s the parable of the talents (Matthew 25). The Master (a type of God) said of the wicked servant, who had been an irresponsible steward of what he was entrusted with, “Take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents” (verse 28). Hamas was given a land with 25 miles of beach-front property, a multitude of greenhouses, a road network, educational and healthcare facilities, and even an airport (GZA) that could have been revived. Moreover, they have received billions of dollars in foreign aid and from private donors and charities. All of that infrastructure was either looted or neglected. Instead, they chose to put all of their resources into weapons and a terror-tunnel network to fire more than 20,000 rockets into Israel since 2005 and eventually pull off the October 7 massacre. Hamas has been the worst stewards imaginable of the Gaza Strip, and it should and will be taken from them. To give them a state after October 7 would be like the United States carving out an area the size of Yellowstone National Park—the same land mass as Gaza—as an Al Qaeda state right after the 9/11 attacks.

Romans 13:2-3 says, “Whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil.” Verse 4 goes on to warn of the consequences of doing evil: “If you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil.” These are harsh words. Some Christians only see the Jesus (Yeshua) in the stained-glass window holding a little lamb. And He is that Jesus, but He is also a Lord of justice.

The Illusory Truth Effect

We’ve all heard it said, “If you say or hear something over and over, you will eventually begin to believe it.” There have even been scientific studies done that support this axiom. They call it the “illusory truth effect.” The studies on the subject, which began in the late seventies, have typically given participants a list of statements and asked them to judge whether they are true or false. The process is repeated week after week, and some of the false statements are repeated on the list each week. The studies have shown that the more a false statement is repeated, a greater number of participants believe that it’s true. However, their recognition of non-repeated false statements tends to remain flat.  Apparently, that sense of familiarity with an idea in our thought process can be mistaken for truth.

Unfortunately, the “Free Palestine” crowd has had some level of success using this principle. However, “When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him” (Isaiah 59:19). I believe the Spirit of the Lord wants to use us to counteract those lies with truth.
