Trump understood - no safe America without a safe Israel

Ironically, the “America First” agenda was being used to bring antisemites on board, as they invoked Trump’s campaign promise of not getting embroiled in useless foreign wars. And while that was, indeed, his aspiration, there are many reasons why Trump understood that Israel’s war against Iran simply didn’t fall into that category.

No one can argue that America wasted time, money, resources, lives and good will as it invested in the endless wars of Afghanistan, Libya, Iraq and so many others, all ending badly. So, the thought of entering a new battle was likely to put off many, but Trump knew that this time it was different from the others.

In 1979, the government of Iran was overthrown as the Shah was replaced by the ruthless Ayatollah Khomeini, who established a theocratic dictatorship which oppressed women, minorities and everyone who resisted the type of extremist Shia Islam he installed as Supreme Leader. Wasting no time calling Israel, the “Little Satan” and America the “Great Satan,” he began a revolution with the express goal of eliminating both.

As his Islamic Sharia government replaced all secular laws, those who were non-compliant faced harsh punishment. Once he seized total power, Muslim student supporters took control of the American Embassy in Tehran, holding 52 staff members hostage for a total of 444 days. That act of aggression, against the West, never subsided but only grew. After Khomeini's death in 1989, Ali Khamenei closely followed the path of his predecessor, also making no secret of his intense hatred towards Israel and the U.S.

Although Iran’s nuclear program began in the 1950s, under the Pahlavi dynasty, it took another 30 years before Iran went into full gear, acquiring centrifuge technology and the ability to enrich uranium. All this was, undoubtedly, part of the plan to eventually gain world dominance and finally realize total superiority over Israel and the West.

Sadly, their dream almost became a reality, until Israel, just nine days ago, made the daring move, by itself, to defang the country which would soon have the ultimate power to hold everyone hostage by way of nuclear weapons. As Israel cleared the way, by targeting the Iranian revolutionary forces, the top Iranian military brass and weapons sites, America was able to finish the job once and for all – as it wiped out the underground nuclear facilities of Natanz, Fordow and Isfahan with its bunker busters.

Despite the risk-adverse fears of a number of Republican leaders, who made it clear that they were not on board with this operation, Trump knew that America would not be immune from the ever-increasing threat of radical Islam and the terrorist regimes which have already cleverly infiltrated Western countries, in an attempt to bring about the same uprising which has ruled Iran over the last 46 years.

So, while taking care of America First sounded great, the security of its more than 340 million residents could not be accomplished by ignoring the mass migration, which has taken place over the past 25 years, culminating in some of these anti-American immigrants successfully worming their way into the government as members of congress, unashamedly expressing their disdain for all things American.

That is why America could not assure safety to its inhabitants, unless it was willing to recognize and act upon the evil which seeped into its own culture, waiting to overtake it at just the right moment. Since both Israel and America are dedicated to the preservation of freedom, human rights, and the dignity which comes from Judeo-Christian ideals, it became a natural alignment for them to partner together to defeat this insidious enemy.

It was the only way to prevent a demonic enemy from obtaining a weapon which has the ability to wipe out whomever it wants and ensure that civilization can continue without the fear of annihilation by a tyrannical regime that demands total subservience.

A proper America First agenda had no choice but to recognize that the price to pay for remaining the country, founded upon “liberty and justice for all,” would require the willingness to fight an enemy that flooded every city while they imported their particular lifestyle, religion and laws, all designed to replace the American way of life with theirs.

But as things escalated, the voices of dissent came from well-respected conservatives, warning not to assist Israel. Among them were such renowned names as Tucker Carlson, Marjorie Taylor Greene and Steve Bannon, who conveniently pointed to the failures of past wars as a justification not to enter into yet another one. This stunning omission, on their part, testified to a complete lack of understanding, that a safe Israel is in the best interest of the U.S.

Because when both countries join forces to eradicate terrorism and the religious extremism that holds everyone hostage, it sends a strong message that this will not be tolerated, even if it means fighting to the death to ensure our freedom!

Pretending that the threat is not already in their midst, Western countries, unwittingly, allow these threatening influences to garner more power, authority and control of their governments, until it’s too late to reverse what they’ve done.

Sadly, the Democratic Party has cleared a path for its progressive and Woke sector, tolerating an unprecedented wave of antisemitic sentiment. Expressed openly, it is sometimes under the guise of anti-Israel rhetoric, but lately even more directly towards American Jews. Now, some within the Republican party, have, likewise, carved a path by choosing to abandon their greatest ally, naively believing that they will be immune on their American shores.

For them, the only consideration is the financial cost, the possibility of injury to American armed forces or the futility of another endless war, but the outcome is the same.  It denies the reality of the dangerous world in which we live, preferring to solve local issues viewed as more pressing.

But thank God for a president who understood that the chaotic unrest in American cities was directly connected to what is happening in the Middle East and that the anarchy on campuses, against Israel and Jews would only get worse if America were to take a hard pass on ending the terrorism which threatens everyone.

So, he did what he had to do by taking the bold step to combat the existential threat to mankind. This Sunday morning, the world is a safer place, just because Israel is safer.  The moment the head of the Iranian snake was cut off, the America First agenda became more secure.

As the wisest man on earth once said, “There is an appointed time for everything, and there is a time for every event under heaven – a time for war and a time for peace. (Ecclesiastes 3) Donald Trump, who hates war, came to the conclusion that it had to be waged in order to bring the world peace which everyone longs to see.
