Ireland hates Israel more than they love their children

Picture this. Your child is extremely ill, and the only hope for saving their life is a medical treatment which was developed in Israel. What parent wouldn’t be thrilled to accept it?

Sadly, Irish parents may no longer be able to have every medical option available to them if their country adopts the latest demand which has been made by 57 Irish pediatric consultants.

Their shocking recommendation has been “that the state not give children medication manufactured by the Israeli company Teva Pharmaceuticals where viable alternatives are available.”

Teva, a highly successful and reputable drug company, which has been in business for over 120 years, is a leading innovative biopharmaceutical company, specializing in immunology and neuroscience generic substitutions.

Boasting life-changing treatments, their medical development has enhanced and saved the lives of people worldwide. Their drugs have treated everything from disorders of the central nervous system, to respiratory conditions, oncology and even pain management.

But to these Irish medical consultants, whose priority is clearly focused on political considerations, children who suffer from any of the above-mentioned maladies may just have to endure the pain or suffer the consequences of foregoing a treatment which could save their lives.

If such an immoral course of action is actually implemented, one would have to conclude that Ireland hates Israel more than they love their children. Is there anything more depraved than the willingness to put aside the best interest of a child’s health, for the sake of the ultimate virtue-signaling boycott against Israel? So what, if it condemns a young life to misery or, worse yet, its final doom?

At least Ireland gets to feel good about itself by showing everyone to what lengths they’re willing to go in order to punish the Jewish state.  But who is really being punished? The loss of these life-saving drugs will not injure Israel in the same way that its deadly impact could have upon Irish children.

Nonetheless, the pediatric consultants are willing to live with those consequences.  For them, they are more concerned about “the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, which has met the recognized legal definition of genocide according to leading international authorities, including the United Nations and the International Court of Justice.”

No mention of Hamas being responsible for the great suffering of its people or attributing any blame to the terrorists for being the perpetrators of a barbaric massacre upon the Israeli people. Of course, such verbal concessions would undermine the opportunity to cast aspersions upon Israel. Better to scapegoat them for all of the tragedy which has resulted since that fateful October day.

But if you need to find convincing evidence, of a full-fledged campaign being waged against the Jewish state, look no further than this reprehensible example of a country, willing to sacrifice the health of their young on the altar of political correctness. Nothing could be more cold-hearted than playing with the lives of vulnerable children, but, in this case, they’re all in.

Even the words of the Teva spokesperson seemed to go unheeded as he stressed that “patients rely on a regular and reliable supply of the generic medicines Teva has developed.” Warning that “any boycott on Teva may impose a risk to the health and well-being of those patients, doesn’t seem to have made much of a difference to the initiators of this divestment.

Ironically, Teva reports that just last year alone, their activities significantly contributed to the Irish economy, to the tune of $226 million, an amazing accomplishment which aided the Irish healthcare system “realize more than 1.5 billion euros through generic substitutions over the past decade.”

In other words, not only will Irish children suffer irreparable harm, from a Teva boycott, but yet another casualty will be the country’s economy, doomed to greatly suffer from a foolhardy decision to walk away from the Israeli drug manufacturer.

Oddly enough, this is not the first time that a particular segment of Irish society has been pressured to give up vital resources that are being provided by Israel.  Because back in March, Ireland’s police force was asked to abandon crucial Israeli technology which had been assisting them in the solving the most violent of crimes.

The innovative Israeli system made a huge impact on helping to identify information which was able to be extracted from phones and computers, all in the pursuit of hunting down the guilty.

In that particular case, it was the police commissioner who pushed back, making it clear that their work could not be as effective without that essential technology.

But again, this is just another example of placing the safety and well-being of Irish lives in last place, in order to send a message to a world that would cheer them on for their priorities in choosing politics over security.

It sounds absurd, but when the intensity of hatred is that strong, the result often leads to placing oneself in jeopardy, risking the most important protections in favor of leading the charge on social justice. But when those leaders are incapable of identifying the real perpetrators of the evils, whom does it serve?

In the meantime, terrorists, whose lives are wholly devoted to committing violent acts of terror of murder, rape, torture and the slow and painful death through starvation, presently being endured by our hostages, continue to evade the condemnation which should be obvious to all.

This is the world in which we live, where good and evil are easily interchanged by people with no moral compass or the ability to distinguish the villains. Sadly, Ireland has fallen into that category. As they search for more ways to isolate Israel, cleansing it from their economy, healthcare system and even their law enforcement, they end up jeopardizing themselves.

In this particular case, unless Irish parents are willing to bravely stand up, just as the police commissioner did, they will become the next victims, whose most precious commodity – their children, will become those who pay the price for the lack of moral ethics of caregivers.

Ireland, known for the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, will, instead, discover impoverishment – not only of their economy, but, more importantly, of their souls, if they continue down this dreadful path.
