White House to Israel: Opening of Hormuz Strait will take several weeks

A potential U.S. military operation to reopen the Strait of Hormuz will take several weeks, White House officials are telling Jerusalem, Israel's Channel 12 News reported.

The U.S. will extend the war to accomplish this goal if Iran doesn't reopen the strategic waterway within the 48-hour deadline issued by President Trump on Saturday, the report added.

Washington is reportedly not ready to allow the Iranian regime to take the Strait of Hormuz hostage, and will change its war strategy to reopen it. “We will use this to make them collapse from within,” the U.S. officials said.
