VP Vance: 'No chance' US dragged into 'Middle Eastern war for years with no end in sight'
U.S. Vice President JD Vance said there is “no chance” the United States will be drawn into a prolonged war in the Middle East.
In an interview with The Washington Post, Vance said he does not yet know how President Donald Trump will decide to act, but noted that if he chooses to strike Iran, there would be no concern about becoming entangled in a lengthy war as happened in Iraq.
“The idea that we’re going to be in a Middle Eastern war for years with no end in sight — there is no chance that will happen,” he told The Washington Post.
Vance also noted his scepticism about military intervention in foreign countries and believes Trump feels the same way.
“I think we all prefer the diplomatic option,” Vance said. “But it really depends on what the Iranians do and what they say.”
