US official: All military operations against Iran halted amid ceasefire
A U.S. official told Al Jazeera that all military operations against Iran have been halted. U.S. President Donald Trump announced overnight that he agreed to a two-week ceasefire, following talks involving Pakistan.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said the decision came after Iran agreed to immediately, fully, and safely reopen the Strait of Hormuz. As part of the agreement, he stated that U.S. bombings and strikes on Iran would be suspended for the duration of the two-week period.
