US doesn't plan strikes on energy infrastructure after first Israeli strikes on Iranian oil depots
The United States is currently not looking to strike Iranian energy infrastructure, US Energy Secretary Chris Wright said.
"The US is targeting zero energy infrastructure. There are no plans to target Iran’s oil industry, their natural gas industry, or anything about their energy industry," he said.
The IDF carried out the first strikes on oil depots earlier on Sunday. “These are Israeli strikes, these are local fuel depots to fill up the gas tank,” Wright added.
Energy prices have surged around the world amid the war and the Iranian closure of the Strait of Hormuz, which carries about 20% of the world’s crude oil and liquefied natural gas exports.
