UAE general: Military action against Iran still an option
A senior UAE military official said that potential military involvement against Iran “has not necessarily been ruled out,” though the immediate priority remains protecting national sovereignty and security.
Maj. Gen. Abdul Nasser Al Humaidi stated that since the escalation began in early 2026, UAE forces have intercepted hundreds of Iranian missiles and drones. He reiterated that the country denies its territory, airspace, or bases are being used for offensive operations against Tehran.
Al Humaidi also highlighted close coordination with Gulf states and international partners, confirming the military remains on high alert, while stopping short of committing to broader offensive action.
