Spain closes airspace to U.S. aircraft in Iran operations
Spain has closed its airspace to U.S. aircraft involved in military operations in Iran.
Defense Minister Margarita Robles announced the measure on Monday: “We don’t authorize either the use of military bases or the use of airspace for actions related to the war in Iran,” she told reporters in Madrid.
The decision follows sharp criticism of Israel and the U.S. by Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, who called their military action an “unjust and illegal war” last week.
