Saudi Arabia summons Iraqi ambassador over ongoing drone attacks by Iranian proxies

The Saudi Foreign Ministry said it summoned the Ambassador of Iraq, Safia Taleb Al Suhail, due to "the continued aggressions and blatant threats targeting the Kingdom and sisterly Gulf countries via drones launched from Iraqi territory."

Despite the ceasefire between Israel, the U.S. and Iran, proxy militias loyal to the regime had continued striking energy infrastructure with drones over the past days.

On Saturday, Saudi Arabia had condemned "heinous attacks targeting a number of vital facilities in the brotherly State of Kuwait, carried out by Iran, its proxies, and affiliated groups."

According to Al-Arabiya, a Saudi representative stressed, while handing the protest note to Al Suhail, that the kingdom "condemned and denounced" these attacks. The official further stressed that the Kingdom would "take all necessary measures" to defend itself.
