PM Netanyahu convenes security cabinet meeting to discuss Iran tensions
Israel's security cabinet was set to convene on Thursday afternoon, less than 24 hours before the planned start of talks between the U.S. and Iran in the Sultanate of Oman.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu informed his ministers of the planned meeting on Wednesday evening, giving unusually short warning time for moving up the meeting that was regularly scheduled for Sunday.
The announcement came amid reports first of the collapse of the talks, and then that they were back on track after all.
Speaking to the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee on Thursday, Netanyahu said about the regime, “If they attack us, we will respond with an unprecedented intensity.”
