Hegseth: IRGC sees only 'Stars and Stripes and the Star of David' overhead
During a Pentagon briefing that opened with a tribute to fallen U.S. soldiers, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth noted that U.S. and Israeli forces have struck more than 15,000 Iranian targets. "That's well over 1,000 a day, no other combination of countries in the world can do that," he asserted.
“Looking up, the IRGC and Iranian regime see only two things on the side of the aircraft: the Stars and Stripes and the Star of David," he said, calling it "the evil regime’s worst nightmare."
Pressed on the Strait of Hormuz, Hegseth replied: "The only thing prohibiting transit in the Straits right now is Iran shooting at shipping. It is open for transit," adding the U.S. would ensure its interests are protected. "We've heard them talk about taking various measures, and we're planning for all of them," he stated.
