Netanyahu: Capture of Beaufort marks major policy shift in Lebanon
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the capture of the Beaufort Ridge in southern Lebanon represents a “dramatic change in policy” and revealed that he had instructed the IDF to expand its ground maneuver in Lebanon.
Earlier, the IDF announced that its forces had seized the strategic Beaufort Ridge and the nearby Saluki Valley area. According to the military, the operation was aimed at destroying terrorist infrastructure, eliminating militants, and removing threats to communities in northern Israel, including Metula and the Galilee Panhandle.
