Military sends calming message ahead of Sabbath: No change to guidelines, IDF is 'constantly and comprehensively prepared'
The Israeli military sent a calming message to the Israeli public on Friday afternoon, ahead of the start of the Jewish Sabbath, stressing that guidelines for the Home Front had not been changed and that the military is ready for every scenario amid fears of an Iranian attack on the country.
“Over the past weeks, and with greater intensity in recent days, we have been monitoring developments in the region. Accordingly, the Chief of Staff is conducting ongoing situation assessments with all relevant parties," said IDF Spokesman, Brig.-Gen. Effie Defrin.
"We are operating at full readiness for a wide range of scenarios. In recent weeks, we have strengthened capabilities and increased readiness along all borders. As the Chief of Staff said yesterday during his visit to the air defense array, it is important that every citizen of Israel knows: the IDF is constantly and comprehensively prepared, both defensively and offensively."
"We fully understand the sense of uncertainty and heightened alertness that has arisen in recent days, as public and media discourse focuses on regional developments. This is natural and completely understandable," Defrin noted, while urging the public to rely only on official IDF announcements and "refrain from spreading rumors that cause public concern."
"I reiterate—there is no change to Home Front Command guidelines. If any change becomes necessary, we will update you in an orderly and clear manner," Defrin concluded.
