Israeli schools set to reopen on Sunday in certain areas, says Education Minister

Education Minister Yoav Kisch said that Israeli schools could begin reopening gradually in certain areas next Sunday, pending approval from the IDF Home Front Command in its security assessment on Saturday night.

Kisch noted that schools in the greater Tel Aviv area, as well as northern Israel, could not be opened at the moment due to the heavy fire being directed to that location daily.

However, in other areas, he said that "educational activities will be allowed adjacent to a standard protected space,” but only for special education schools, daycare centers, and the first, second, 11th and 12th grades.

Meanwhile, schools will continue distance learning to maintain the connection between teachers and students, Kisch added.
