Israel urges citizens to 'increased precautions' while traveling in 'any country' abroad amid terror threats
Israel's National Security Council urged Israelis traveling abroad to "exercise increased caution in all destinations around the world" amid "serious concerns that terrorist elements are operating with the aim of harming Israelis."
"Since the start of Operation Roaring Lion, there has been an identified surge in motivation and an increase in terrorist activity and threats from Iranian security agencies against Israeli and Jewish targets worldwide," noting there "is a growing concern regarding attacks on Israeli targets," particularly in countries close to Iran, like the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Jordan.
"It should be noted that in recent days, several attempts to carry out terrorist attacks against Israelis have been thwarted and disrupted."
The NCSC urged Israelis to avoid transit flights through the United Arab Emirates; conceal Jewish and Israeli identifiers in public spaces; avoid visiting sites identified as Jewish or Israeli and maintain awareness when visiting them; avoid sharing real-time personal information and travel plans online, especially on social media; and not to visit areas known to be hostile toward Israelis and Jews like specific neighborhoods in countries or regions with hostile public opinions toward Israel.
"In order to report Israelis in distress, or for any other non-terror related inquiries or issues (consular, medical, etc.) we recommend that you contact the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' hotline (active 24/7), by phone at +972-2-5303155, or on WhatsApp at +972-50-5073969."
