Iranian regime doubled executions in 2025, Amnesty says
According to an Amnesty report, the Islamic Republic doubled the number of executions in its territory to 2,159: the highest figure recorded in the country since 1981. The organization attributes the trend to a tightening political crackdown following the war with Israel and domestic protests.
