Iran receives 15-point plan to end war, Pakistani officials say
Iran received a 15-point proposal from the US to reach a ceasefire in the war, two Pakistani officials told the Associated Press Wednesday.
The Pakistani officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren’t authorized to release details of the plan, it includes sanctions relief, civilian nuclear cooperation, a rollback of Iran’s nuclear program, monitoring by the International Atomic Energy Agency, limits on ballistic missile, and open shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
Pakistan is helping relay messages between the U.S. and Iran and expressed willingness to host ceasefire talks in Islamabad.
Meanwhile, Iranian officials have insisted the regime has not engaged in any negotiations with the U.S. At the same time, the Wall Street Journal reported this morning that Iran made a counter proposal, which demands reparations for damages from the U.S.-Israeli operations, the closure of all U.S. military bases in the Persian Gulf, an end to Israel’s campaign against Hezbollah, and a guarantee not to resume conflict.
