IDF warns Lebanese civilians to evacuate almost all of southern Lebanon
The IDF issued a wide-scale evacuation warning for southern Lebanon Wednesday morning, telling civilians to evacuate north of the Zahrani River.
IDF Arabic Spokesman Col. Avichay Adraee issued the warning, saying the Israeli military was about to “act forcefully” against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.
“Hezbollah’s terror activities are forcing the IDF to act forcefully against it in that area, and it does not intend to harm you,” Col. Adraee posted in a message to social media.
“Airstrikes are ongoing, as the IDF is operating with great force in the area. Therefore, out of concern for your safety, we again urge you to evacuate your homes immediately and head at once north of the Zahrani River,” he continued. “Remaining south of the Zahrani River may endanger your lives and the lives of your families.”
“Any movement southward may put your lives at risk,” he reiterated.
The evacuation warning was a restatement of a similar warning first issued last Thursday.
The IDF has moved several divisions into southern Lebanon in recent days, as it works to remove Hezbollah presence and infrastructure from the area south of the Litani River.
