IDF to Police: Need forces for draft evader arrest operations starting in June
The IDF has formally asked Israeli police to provide forces for operations targeting ultra-Orthodox draft evaders beginning in June, according to a Kan News report.
The request is currently under review by the police operations division, with discussions on the matter expected soon. In the past, Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai reportedly refused to allocate officers for such missions, a decision that drew criticism from Israel’s High Court of Justice.
