IDF: No casualties in unsuccessful operation to recover remains of IDF soldier deep within Lebanon
Following claims that Israeli soldiers were wounded in an operation in Lebanon last night, the IDF emphasized that there were no casualties among Israeli forces, but noted that the attempt to locate the remains of IDF soldier Ron Arad was not successful.
"As part of IDF operations in Lebanon, IDF special forces operated overnight in an attempt to locate findings related to the missing navigator Ron Arad," the IDF said.
Arad was an Israeli Air Force combat navigator who went missing during a mission in Lebanon in 1986.
"There were no casualties among our forces. No findings related to him were discovered at the search site."
"The IDF will continue to act tirelessly, day and night, out of a deep commitment to bringing all our sons — both the fallen and the missing — back home to Israel."
