IDF eliminates Basij commander in precision strike

The IDF confirmed the elimination of Gholamreza Soleimani, commander of Iran’s Basij paramilitary forces, in a precision strike coordinated between the Israeli Air Force and military intelligence.

According to the IDF, the strike is part of a broader campaign that has targeted dozens of senior Iranian commanders, dealing a significant blow to the regime’s command-and-control structure.

The military also noted the Basij’s role in suppressing internal protests, stating that forces under Soleimani’s command led violent crackdowns, mass arrests, and actions against civilian demonstrators during recent unrest.
