Hezbollah official: Will respond to any Israeli violation, no return to pre-war status
A senior Hezbollah political official, Mahmoud Qamati, said the group will not return to the situation that existed before the current conflict and will respond to any Israeli violation of the ceasefire.
In an interview with Al Jazeera, Qamati stated that Hezbollah seeks not only a ceasefire but a full end to what he described as aggression and a complete Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory. He added that the group’s “strategic patience” over the past 15 months has ended, rejecting any buffer zones or continued Israeli presence.
Qamati also emphasized that Hezbollah will not give up its weapons, though it is open to discussions with the Lebanese state on a national defense strategy.
