Hamas threatened contractors, blocked Rafah reconstruction efforts

Hamas operatives reportedly threatened Gaza-based contractors at gunpoint and prevented them from beginning reconstruction work on a planned new Palestinian city in Rafah, according to a Kan News report.
The contractors were expected to enter the area in coordination with the IDF and the U.S.-led command in a zone under Israeli control. Security officials reportedly warned the United States and the Peace Council that the situation is “approaching a renewal of fighting.”
