France calls emergency UN Security Council meeting over Lebanon escalation
France has called for an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council following the latest developments in Lebanon.
Israel’s Ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, responded by arguing that the real discussion should focus on the ongoing failure to implement UN Security Council Resolution 1701 and what he described as Lebanon’s transformation into an Iranian-backed terrorist stronghold.
