Bangladesh seeks role in planned international force for Gaza
Bangladesh has informed the United States that it is interested in joining the international force planned for Gaza, Reuters reported Sunday.
A Bangladeshi government spokesperson said participation in the international stabilization force in Gaza is a “national interest.” The U.S. Interior Department has not yet commented.
Under President Donald Trump’s 20-point plan to end the war, a temporary International Stabilization Force (ISF) would be formed with the United States, Arab states, and other countries to help train Palestinian police in Gaza and secure the territory’s borders.
An Israeli security official warned last November that the IDF was preparing renewed military plans because Washington lacked a clear strategy for disarming Hamas, forcing Israel to weigh whether to continue with the international force framework or resume full military operations.
Bangladesh does not recognize Israel and maintains no diplomatic or commercial ties with the Jewish state as of 2026.
