Anne Frank Center director criticizes Yad Vashem expansion in Germany
The director of the Anne Frank Educational Center in Frankfurt has criticized plans to open Yad Vashem educational centers in Germany, arguing they could become influenced by Israel’s current right-wing government.
Miron Mendel, an Israeli-born educator who heads the Anne Frank Center, said the new institutions could be used to advance government policies. His comments came days after the announcement of a landmark initiative to establish Yad Vashem educational centers across Germany.
