American sentenced to 10 years in Iran-linked murder plot against regime critic

The FBI handed a ten-year sentence to an American man for participating in a murder-for-hire plot under the direction of the Iranian Regime.

Jonathan Loadholt, 37, of Staten Island, New York, was recruited by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to “stalk, surveil, and ultimately assassinate” Masih Alinejad Iranian-American journalist, author, and human rights activist who has publicly opposed the regime, an FBI statement said.

“The FBI will squash all attempts to silence critics of oppressive regimes on American soil,” the statement underscored.

Farhad Shakeri, identified as having hired Loadholt’s recruiter, remains at large.
