Iranian missile barrages kill foreign worker in Israel & 4 Palestinian women near Hebron
Lack of bomb shelters represents a serious problem for Palestinian settlements in close proximity to Israeli communities
A foreign worker was killed in the central Israel community of Moshav Adanim late Wednesday night, and three Palestinian women were killed in the town of Beit Awwa, near Hebron, as Iran launched multiple barrages of ballistic missiles.
The IDF reported six launches detected between midnight and 8 a.m., with the northern part of the country receiving most of the attacks.
Magen David Adom emergency services said it attempted to treat the 30-year-old foreign worker, who sustained critical injuries from shrapnel from an apparent cluster munition.

Despite their attempts to stabilize his condition, medics said they were forced to declare his death several minutes after beginning resuscitation efforts. His name has not been released by authorities.
According to footage shared by The Times of Israel military correspondent Emanuel Fabian, the missile strike that killed the worker used a cluster munition warhead.

Additionally, three Palestinian women, including a minor, were killed and 13 others were seriously injured about an hour earlier when missile fragments fell on the town of Beit Awwa, southwest of Hebron, in the Palestinian-controlled area of Judea (West Bank), the Palestinian Authority’s official Wafa News reported.
The Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) reported that three women, identified as Mais Ghazi Masalmeh, 17, Sahira Rizq Masalmeh, 50, and Amal Sobhi Abdel Karim Matawa Masalmeh, 36, were killed after missile fragments fell on a women’s hairdressing salon.
Later in the day, the Palestinian Authority health ministry said that a fourth woman, Aseel Masalma, 32, who was critically wounded in the attack had succumbed to her wound. According to Palestinian reports, she was six months pregnant.
According to the Wafa report, missile fragments also landed in several locations across the Hebron area, including in the city of Hebron and the town of Deir Sammit.

While most Israeli homes built in the last 20 years have bomb shelters, and most municipalities have public shelters, Palestinian homes and cities do not have shelters.
The Palestinian Authority has also not invested in air raid sirens or public bomb shelters. Some Palestinians rely on alerts via Israeli warning apps, such as Tzofar or Red Alert, to be warned of incoming rocket and missile threats.
Palestinians who live near Israeli towns and communities can also hear the air raid sirens in those communities, and know that an attack is imminent. However, despite the warning, most have no safe place to run to, as the Palestinian Authority has not mandated bomb shelters in homes or communities, as Israeli authorities have.
Additionally, as Muslim Palestinians celebrate the end of Ramadan, many shops and restaurants have been open at night over the past couple of weeks, since Muslims only eat after sunset during the month-long period of fasting.
