Israeli companies WINT and Kando are using artificial intelligence to ensure water is used efficiently.

Speaking with The Media Line, WINT’s chief product and strategy officer Yaron Dycian said the company’s technological innovations were crucial for the region.

“Israel was always at the forefront of these things. And we’re just continuing that thread with water efficiency and helping the world solve water scarcity, especially in this region,” Dycian said.

“Installing a solution like ours into a building is not complicated. It’s a few valves and meters,” he explained. “And with that, you have a waterproof, water-safe, water-efficient building.”

On its website, WINT explains that its “water management system detects and stops leaks at the source using Artificial Intelligence.”

“It alerts you when water is leaking and can automatically shut it off. Intelligent real-time monitoring identifies sources of leaks and waste mitigating damage, reducing consumption and cutting the resulting carbon emissions.”

Another Israeli company using artificial intelligence to improve water efficiency is Kando, which seeks to help improve the the quality of wastewater.

While Israel uses approximately 85% of its wastewater for irrigation, the quality of the wastewater must be regularly monitored, to ensure the quality of the wastewater is helping rather than harming plants.

Kando Marketing Manager Anne-Li Steutel told The Media Line its technologies allow for rapid and reliable analysis of wastewater quality.

“You don’t have six months to figure out where this is coming from because if you’re using it for water reuse and it’s killing plants, it’s quite urgent,” she said.
