A senior Iranian source said on Sunday that nuclear facilities were evacuated before the American strike. He also added that most of Iran's enriched uranium stockpile is "stored in secured sites."

The Iranian Foreign Ministry announced that the country would exercise its right to oppose "the aggression of the U.S. military" and accused the U.S. of initiating war at a time when diplomatic efforts were ongoing. The ministry appealed to international institutions and claimed that "silence in the face of blatant aggression exposes the world to unprecedented and ongoing danger."

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi added that the U.S. had "seriously violated" the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and reiterated that his country’s nuclear facilities are "for peaceful purposes."

Iran's broadcasting corporation threatened, "From now on, every American citizen in the region will be a legitimate target." A similar message came from the Houthi rebels in Yemen, who stated, "Retaliation against the United States is only a matter of time."

Pre-dawn U.S. strike on three Iranian nuclear facilities

Early this morning, the United States struck three nuclear facilities in Iran: Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed the action on the social network Truth Social. He later gave a speech at the White House, declaring, "I can report this was a tremendous success," and issued a threatening message to Tehran: "If there is no peace, we will continue to strike."

CNN reported that the American strike was carried out using six B-2 bombers that dropped twelve bunker-buster bombs (GBU-57) on the Fordow facility. Each bomb weighed 13.5 tons. Additionally, American submarines launched 30 Tomahawk missiles at the Natanz and Isfahan facilities. A B-2 bomber also dropped two bunker-buster bombs, with a total weight of 27 tons, on the Natanz facility.
