Iranian missile impact again causes major damage in Beersheva after Israeli fighter jets pound Tehran overnight
Israel targets 2 nuclear scientists, manufacturing sites for nuclear components

At the end of a quiet night, Beersheva was hit for the second time in as many nights with a single Iranian missile that caused major damage in the southern city, but no serious injuries.
An earlier barrage of some 10-15 ballistic missiles shot at northern Israel late Thursday was intercepted without causing injuries. Early Friday morning, a single ballistic missile launched toward the Beersheva region managed to penetrate air defenses, wounding seven people and causing significant damage to buildings and cars.
“We simply entered the safe room, and suddenly there was a crazy boom. The air conditioner window flew into my face. I opened the safe room door and it was dark. The whole house was full of shattered glass. Everything is destroyed. There’s no home. The older kids are at their grandparents’, and I’m here with the little one. My husband is on reserve duty,“ a Beersheva resident told Ynet News.

The missile barrage was meant to be much larger, but Israeli fighter jets struck three ballistic missile launchers that were loaded and about to attack, IDF Spokesman Brig.-Gen. Effie Defrin said in a morning briefing.
In addition, an Iranian commander who was launching the missiles was also struck.

Israeli air defenses also shot down around 10 Iranian drones along Israel’s eastern border overnight, the IDF reported.
Since the strike on Beersheva’s Soroka Medical Center on Thursday, Israel leaders have sharply escalated their rhetoric against the Iranian regime, threatening to “undermine” it and to target Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei directly.

However, last night’s Israeli strikes largely followed the pattern of the preceding days of fighting.
Army Radio reported that two more nuclear scientists were targeted overnight. The first was killed alongside two of his assistants, while the outcome of the second strike was still uncertain.
Airstrikes once again targeted the capital, Tehran, where the IDF hit key locations, including the SPND headquarters responsible for research and development of Iran’s nuclear weapons program, as well as military missile production facilities.
One wave of strikes saw over 60 fighter jets bridge the distance of over 2,000 kilometers (almost 1,250 miles) to strike dozens of targets with around 120 munitions.

Israeli Air Force jets struck the SPND headquarters in Tehran, a facility established by Mohsen Fakhrizadeh — the architect of Iran’s nuclear weapons program — which was used for the development of advanced military technologies, including those related to nuclear capabilities.
In addition, a site producing a key component of Iran’s nuclear weapons program, along with several industrial facilities involved in missile manufacturing, was targeted.
On Friday morning, another wave of airstrikes destroyed 35 additional missile launchers and storage sites in the Tabriz and Kermanshah regions.

Israel Defense Forces reported that fighter jets continued to hunt and destroy missile systems and radar installations near Isfahan and Tehran, which have threatened Israeli aircraft.
“This strike expands the Israeli Air Force’s freedom of aerial operation in Iranian airspace, following the breakthrough to Tehran. Fighter jets and other aircraft of the Israeli Air Force continue to operate freely in Iranian skies, striking military targets of the Iranian regime in western and central Iran,” the IDF said.

“A week has passed since the start of the operation. We are expanding our aerial superiority in the region and focusing our offensive efforts,” said Defrin.
“We have additional targets to strike – in Tehran, in western Iran, and in other areas. We are continuing our strikes according to a structured and evolving plan.”
