The Iranian regime continued launching missiles at Israel on Tuesday morning, despite U.S. President Donald Trump announcing in an earlier social media post that Israel and Iran had reached a ceasefire agreement, which should lead to the end of the war.

“CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE! It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE (in approximately 6 hours from now, when Israel and Iran have wound down and completed their in progress final missions!), for 12 hours, at which point the War will be considered, ENDED!” Trump posted to his Truth Social account at around 1:00 a.m. Israeli time.

Shortly after Trump’s announcement, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi wrote on 𝕏, “As of now, there is NO 'agreement' on any ceasefire or cessation of military operations. However, provided that the Israeli regime stops its illegal aggression against the Iranian people no later than 4 a.m. Tehran time, we have no intention to continue our response afterwards.”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly instructed all government ministers not to comment on reports of the ceasefire.

Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abd al-Rahman al-Thani helped to broker the ceasefire, according to a report in Reuters. The Qatari prime minister called Iranian officials following the missile attack on the U.S. Al-Udeid base in Qatar.

Reuters reported that President Trump told the Qatari Emir that Israel was willing to agree to a ceasefire.

U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance learned about the ceasefire while being interviewed on Fox News. When host Brett Baier informed Vance of President Trump’s post to Truth Social, Vance responded, “That’s good news that the president was able to get that across the finish line.”

“I knew that he was working the phones as I was on the way over here, so I knew exactly what we were going to do,” Vance told Baier.

Later, Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi conceded that a ceasefire had been agreed to, and attempted to portray the war as a victory for Iran.

“The military operations of our powerful Armed Forces to punish Israel for its aggression continued until the very last minute, at 4am,” Araghchi posted to 𝕏.

While the ceasefire was supposed to have taken effect at 7:00 a.m. Israeli time, the IDF and Israel’s Home Front Command detected Iranian ballistic missile launches towards the State of Israel after that time.

Almost an hour later, Trump posted another message to Truth Social, saying, “THE CEASEFIRE IS NOW IN EFFECT. PLEASE DO NOT VIOLATE IT!  DONALD J. TRUMP, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES!”

There were reports in Iranian media of explosions in Tehran shortly after those launches, which were preceded by evacuation notices from the IDF.

Iranian state-media company Student News Network (SNN) reported at 7:20 a.m., shortly after the launch of the salvo of ballistic missiles, that Iran was holding to the ceasefire agreement. Iran’s Press TV said that the ceasefire came into effect "after four waves of Iranian attacks on territories occupied by Israel.”

The attack was the sixth barrage of ballistic missiles launched by Iran at Israel overnight.

The IDF released video of the destruction of several ballistic missile launchers in Iran, saying that the missiles were primed for launch as part of the attacks early Tuesday morning.

Four Israelis were killed in the ballistic missile attacks, after one of the missiles struck an apartment building in the southern city of Beersheba. The IDF said it is investigating why the missile was not intercepted despite the launch of interceptors.

Officials said the missile struck the building on a wall very close to the safe rooms, destroying the rooms. Of the 28 people killed in Israel during the 12-day war, most were not in safe rooms. Officials believe that some of those killed in Beersheba may have been in their safe rooms, but were thrown out of the rooms by the powerful blast.

The Israeli government later released an official statement, saying, “Israel agrees to the President's proposal for a bilateral ceasefire."

"Israel has removed from over it a double existential threat – on both the nuclear issue and regarding ballistic missiles.”

Prime Minister Netanyahu is scheduled to make a statement about the ceasefire and Israel’s achievements in the war later in the day.

Several hours later, as this article was being published, the IDF announced the launch of two additional Iranian missiles towards northern Israel, which were intercepted.

Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a statement following the missile launches, saying, "In light of the complete violation of the ceasefire declared by the President of the United States, by Iran and the launching of missiles at Israel, and in accordance with the policy of the Israeli government, as determined to respond forcefully to any violation, I have instructed the IDF, in coordination with the Prime Minister, to continue the intensive activity to attack in Tehran to thwart regime targets and terrorist infrastructures in Tehran."
