3 Israelis just died from strike in Beersheva – How will Israel respond?

UPDATE AT 6:21 a.m. ISRAEL TIME: Three Israelis in the southern city of Beersheva have just died after sustaining critical injuries during a wave of early morning Iranian missile strikes.

This brings the Israeli death toll to 27.
How will Israeli Prime Benjamin Netanyahu respond?
Standby – this is a rapidly developing story.
For now, please pray for these three families and for the thousands of Israelis wounded and traumatized in what some are beginning to call “The 12 Day War.”
JERUSALEM, ISRAEL – American President Donald J. Trump announced at 6:02 p.m. Eastern Time on Monday evening that his administration had just brokered a full ceasefire between Iran and Israel after twelve days of a brutal and bitter missile war.

Trump wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social, that the ceasefire would begin at midnight Eastern Time.
That said, just after 10 p.m. Eastern – 5 a.m. here in Israel – with less than two hours to go, the Iranian regime fired multiple salvos of missiles at the Jewish state, sending millions of Israelis to bomb shelters in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

“CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE!” Trump wrote. “It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a complete and total CEASEFIRE (in approximately six hours from now, when Israel and Iran have wound down and completed their in-progress final missions!), for 12 hours, at which point the war will be considered ENDED! Officially, Iran will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 12th hour, Israel will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 24th hour, an official END to the 12-DAY WAR will be saluted by the world. During each CEASEFIRE, the other side will remain PEACEFUL and RESPECTFUL. On the assumption that everything works as it should – which it will – I would like to congratulate both countries, Israel and Iran, on having the stamina, courage, and intelligence to end what should be called THE 12-DAY WAR. This is a war that could have gone on for years and destroyed the entire Middle East, but it didn’t and never will! God bless Israel, God bless Iran, God bless the Middle East, God bless the United States of America, and GOD BLESS THE WORLD!
DONALD J. TRUMP,
PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

Iran’s Foreign Minister remained defiant throughout the night.
So was Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
“We will not surrender to any aggression,” Khamenei wrote on 𝕏.
Meanwhile, several Arab countries – including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates – issued condemnations of Iran’s missile attacks on Qatar.

The UAE’s director of strategic communications issued the following statement.
The United Arab Emirates has condemned, in the strongest terms, the targeting of Al Udeid Air Base in the State of Qatar by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, describing it as a flagrant violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and airspace, as well as a clear breach of international law and the UN Charter.
The UAE underscored its categorical rejection of any attack that threatens the security and safety of the State of Qatar, stressing that such actions undermine regional security and stability.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) expressed the UAE’s full solidarity with Qatar and its unwavering support for all measures aimed at safeguarding the security and safety of its citizens and residents.
The UAE reaffirmed the urgent need to halt military escalation and warned against continued acts of provocation that threaten to destabilize regional security and risk dragging the region down dangerous paths with catastrophic repercussions for international peace and security.
Furthermore, the Ministry called for the implementation of diplomatic solutions based on the principles of good neighborliness, emphasizing that serious dialogue remains the only viable path to resolving the current crises and preserving the security, stability, and peace of the region and its peoples.
Even the Palestinian leadership – long an ally of the Iranian regime – condemned Tehran’s decision to fire six ballistic missiles at the U.S. military base in Qatar.
The Palestinian Authority called the attack “a blatant violation of the sovereignty of the sisterly State of Qatar and affirms its support for the State of Qatar and its brotherly people.”

UPDATE AT 6:38 a.m. ISRAEL TIME: Iran has fired a third wave of missiles at Israel.
UPDATE AT 6:41 a.m. ISRAEL TIME: Iran has now fired a fourth salvo of missiles at Tel Aviv and Israel’s coastal communities.
“I have assumed the Iranians would launch a barrage of missiles right before a ceasefire goes into effect,” wrote Ambassador Dennis Ross, a former senior Mideast advisor to three American presidents, on 𝕏 moments ago.
“Khamenei will claim that Iran inflicted great damage on Israel and stood up to the U.S. But he cannot disguise the reality of Iran’s defeat and dramatic weakening.”
