American television giant HBO Max has acquired the Israeli series "One Day in October" , which centers on the events of the Black Saturday attack, and will air it on Oct. 7, 2025. This was announced Tuesday morning by yes.

"One Day in October" is an Israeli-American mini-series based on true stories from the Hamas terror attack. It was produced jointly by Israeli TV provider yes, American company Fox Entertainment, and production companies ZOA Films and Sparks Go. The series was created by Oded Davidoff and Daniel Finkelman. It is the first scripted series about the Hamas terror attack to be broadcast in the United States, on HBO Max.

The four episodes of the first season, which aired on the first anniversary of Oct. 7, focused on the stories of: United Hatzalah volunteer Avi Jan, who went with friends in an ambulance to save lives; Sabine Tassa, whose ex-partner was killed when he jumped on a grenade and whose son was murdered; Aya Maidan, a cyclist from Kibbutz Be'eri who hid with a young Bedouin man while they were surrounded by Hamas terrorists; And two young women who were trapped in a bathroom stall during the Nova music festival massacre. The season featured actors Yuval Semo, Yael Abecassis, Naomi Levov, and Suheil Ariel Or.

The four episodes of the second season, set to air on the second anniversary of Oct. 7 in both Israel and the U.S., will follow: Former hostage Omer Shemtov; Inbal Lieberman, the security coordinator who saved Kibbutz Nir Am; And the Golan-Hogeg family from Kibbutz Kfar Aza who survived the onslaught. This new season stars Lior Ashkenazi, Michael Aloni, Ori Perlman, Moran Rosenblatt, and Neta Roth.

“The tragic events of October 7 affected all of us deeply,” said Fernando Szew, head of Fox Entertainment Studios. “From the start of production, we approached the series with sensitivity but also a sense of urgency, while honoring the victims and heroic survivors.”

Daniel Finkelman, founder of Sparks Go and one of the series’ producers, added, “In a time when truth has become fragile, the right and powerful thing to do is to bring forward human stories that open hearts and foster meaningful conversation.”
