Yemeni missiles intercepted in separate strikes; air raid sirens heard in Jordan Valley and Judea and Samaria

The Houthis – an Iranian backed terrorist group in Yemen – continued their attack on Israel on Tuesday morning by launching two missiles causing sirens to sound in the Jordan Valley and Samaria, internationally known as the West Bank. Israel Defense Forces (IDF) updated citizens that there was no damage nor deaths reported.
Ynet News reported that the first alerts sounded around 5:00 a.m. in communities including Argaman, Beqaot, Gitit, Hemdat, Hamra, Mekhora, Maale Efraim, Masua, Maskiot and Roi in the Jordan Valley.
Towns in the northern areas of the West Bank which received the siren warnings included, Bracha, Ahiya, Itamar, Elon Moreh, Ariel, Givat Harel, Givat Haroeh, Har Bracha, Havat Gilad, Yitzhar, Kfar Tapuach, Migdalim, Nofei Nehemia, Eli, Immanuel, Enav, Kedumim, Kida, Rehelim, Shvut Rachel, Shavei Shomron and Shiloh.
A second missile was launched from Yemen at 7:42 a.m. and was successfully intercepted. The Israeli military reported that no additional sirens were triggered, consistent with its alert policy.
The assault by Houthi rebels is not new. They began launching consistent missile attacks in late October 2023 – just a couple of weeks after the Hamas-led massacre that killed 1,200 Israelis and foreign nationals and saw 251 others kidnapped into Gaza. The Houthis stated they joined the campaign against Israel in response to the Israeli military's actions following the Oct. 7 attacks.
The recent series of missile launches disrupted Israeli air traffic, with planes temporarily held in the air and landings at Ben Gurion Airport delayed following Sunday’s sirens. This decision likely came on the heels of a recent attack earlier this month which resulted in a failed interception and a missile landing near the main terminal at the airport. Emergency services reported no injuries or impact sites from Sunday's attack. Meanwhile, Palestinian media noted that shrapnel landed near Hebron.
Earlier in the week, there were multiple instances of air raid sirens. From Thursday night into Friday morning, alarms were triggered in central Israel and the Sharon region, where the IDF reported intercepting an incoming missile.
That same day, another wave of sirens echoed across Jerusalem, the coastal plain, the Dead Sea region, and parts of the West Bank. During that interception, debris from a defensive missile fell near Ein Shemer, close to Hadera, igniting a fire and resulting in smoke inhalation injuries.
In the early hours of Thursday, the Arrow 3 system intercepted a missile, but falling shrapnel landed in the central city of Lod, damaging a home. A man sustained minor injuries while hurrying to a shelter.
The Houthis have said they plan on focusing their attacks on Ben Gurion Airport and the Port of Haifa in northern Israel.
