United Airlines announced on Friday that flights from Newark Airport in New Jersey to Tel Aviv will resume earlier than previously scheduled. According to the company’s statement, flights will restart on June 5, instead of the original date of June 12.

According to the official announcement, the first United flight from Newark to Tel Aviv will depart this coming Thursday, June 5, and starting June 6, the airline will resume operating two daily flights on the New York/Newark–Tel Aviv route.

The airline emphasized that the decision to resume service was made after a comprehensive operational assessment, in close coordination with pilot and aircrew unions. United Airlines had suspended its flights to Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, resumed operations in March 2025, and then suspended them again following the Houthi missile strike on Ben Gurion Airport.

Other airlines:

  • Air Baltic also announced today that it will resume flights to Israel on June 6.

  • Air France resumed flights to Ben Gurion last Tuesday.

Airlines that have not yet resumed service to Israel

  • Lufthansa – will not return to Israel until June 15.

  • British Airways and Ryanair – have extended cancellations until the end of July.

Low-cost giant Ryanair announced last Wednesday that it is canceling its flights to Israel through July 31. The airline stated, “We apologize for these cancellations, which are beyond our control,” just a week and a half after Ryanair’s CEO expressed frustration over the security situation in Israel, saying they are “losing patience.” The company added, “Affected passengers will be notified via email about their available options.”

British Airways announced about a week ago that it would cancel all flights to Israel through the end of July. The British carrier had initially suspended flights until mid-June, following the Houthi missile strike on Ben Gurion , but has now extended the suspension by more than a month.
