NEWSMAKER INTERVIEW — PART ONE

Trump leading change of ‘biblical proportion’ in Israel, Iran, globally, and at home, Amb. Huckabee tells ALL ISRAEL NEWS

Conversation will run soon on our ‘Inside The Epicenter’ podcast

WASHINGTON, DC — What exactly happened behind closed doors at the White House this week?

What exactly did U.S. President Donald J. Trump and his senior advisors say to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his team?

What discussions were had and decisions made as the two leaders spent hour after hour together over the course of four days?

There was no typical Oval Office press availability.

There was no splashy East Room press conference.

So, reporters – both American and Israeli – have had precious little to go on, and speculation has been rampant.

But ALL ISRAEL NEWS was able to sit down for an hour with Mike Huckabee, the U.S. ambassador to Israel, to get some of the inside story and his assessment of the week’s high-level and high-stakes meetings.

My wife, Lynn, and I met with the ambassador at the J.W. Marriott Hotel, a block from the White House.

Over the next few days, we’ll report on what Huckabee told us.

You can also listen to about 30 minutes of the conversation on our “Inside The Epicenter” podcast that we co-host for The Joshua Fund.

The episode should post on Friday.

TRUMP IS LEADING A ‘BIBLICAL’ SCALE OF CHANGE

One of the most interesting things Huckabee told us was that he believes President Trump is leading a scale of tectonic change and transformation of “biblical proportion” in the Middle East, globally, and here at home.

“I told the President when he was elected, I said, ‘I think you are capable of leading the world to a new day, to a level of [change] that would be – and I use this term – of biblical proportion,’” Huckabee explained.

“And I believe it more now than ever before.”

Bombing Iran’s nuclear sites, when few thought Trump would, was a big part of the change.

But Huckabee also described how the President has been keeping his campaign promises to revive the economy, “get the border under control,” “stop this DEI nonsense,” “stop the transgender nonsense,” and make sure “little girls are going to be able to play their sports and not go into a locker room and see some teenage boy dressing in front of them,” to name just a few.

“A lot of people, I'm sure, thought, ‘Well, he won't really do that.’ But he really did that."

“I can't tell you how proud I am to serve in this administration under a President who says things and then does them.”

HUCKABEE: BOMBING IRAN SENT A POWERFUL MESSAGE TO AMERICA’S FRIENDS

The ambassador pulled back the curtain for us and gave us a sense of how dramatic and historic Trump’s conversations with Netanyahu have been.

He said the two leaders were carefully assessing the success of their joint military operations against Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile threats.

He said they were also developing strategies for reshaping the modern Middle East.

“It’s been an incredible week, I would say, for both the president and the prime minister,” Huckabee told us.

“It’s been a great week for America and a great week for Israel. I don't think the bonds have ever been tighter.”

“It's an extraordinary relationship that I think was bonded even stronger by the events of the past month.”

Trump’s point man for the U.S.-Israeli alliance described sitting with Trump and Netanyahu over dinner this week, discussing the implications of Trump’s decision to strike and the overwhelming success of the attacks in neutralizing the Iranian threat.

“I was asked the other night – the President, at the dinner, turns to me and he says, ‘What's your assessment?’”

“I said, ‘Sir, I think that there was a big message sent to the world on the night you sent the B-2s in: If you're America's friend, you can trust us. If you're America's foe, you better fear us, 'cause we can reach out and touch you even if you're halfway around the world.’”

Huckabee then went further.

“What President Trump did was deliver a message to our friends,” he told us.

“And not just to Israel. This was a message he sent to the Saudis, to the Emiratis, to Japan and Taiwan – a message he sent to the European nations, our allies all around the world.”

The message is this: “If somebody is out there trying to kill you and you're our ally, trust us. We're not going to leave you by yourself.”

“We're not going to fight your wars for you,” Huckabee clarified.

“Israel has never once in its history ever asked America to fight its wars. Never have we put one pair of boots on the ground on behalf of the State of Israel.”

But America backs her allies, he insisted.

America doesn’t cut allies loose.

Not under President Trump, at least.

Huckabee then seemed to allude to voices such as Tucker Carlson, Steve Bannon, and others who had urged Trump not to keep his promises to prevent Iran from building nuclear bombs – and who effectively urged Trump to throw Israel under the bus.

“When I hear these people back in the States talk about how ‘we don't want another war’ and ‘we don't want an endless war,’ you’ve never had one. You're not going to have one, because Israel won't allow us to do their fighting for them. What they needed was some hardware that we had – that we were the only ones who could deliver.”

HUCKABEE: PRESIDENT TRUMP WAS ALSO SENDING A POWERFUL MESSAGE TO AMERICA’S FOES

“So, the message sent to our friends was: trust us. But there was another message – a message that was delivered to Iran, but it was also delivered to Russia, to China, to North Korea.”

“If you're an adversary, you better fear us.”

Trump isn’t trigger-happy.

He wants to end wars, not start them.

But Trump controls the world’s most fearsome military arsenal, and he isn’t afraid to wield it to defend American lives, our vital national interests, and our allies.

“It was a brilliant message, and it changed the world, Joel – it changed the world.”

“That one night – those B-2s flying a 37-hour mission from 8,000 miles away – and not one of our planes was shot down. Not one of our people even had so much as a scratch.”

“Think about the operational brilliance of this. It showed America's military might at its greatest – but what it really showed was: Don’t bet against America. It's not a smart move. It's a fool's game to do so.”

HUCKABEE: MASSIVE, POSITIVE CHANGE COMING SOON TO THE MIDDLE EAST

“When I say [the President’s decision to bomb Iran] changed the world,” Huckabee continued, “we're now on the precipice of seeing amazing realignment – certainly in the Middle East.”

“We could see [new] Abraham Accord members being Syria, Lebanon, certainly Saudi Arabia.”

“Other countries within the region that once were at war with Israel and full of enmity,” he continued, “are changing their perspectives.”

Huckabee predicted that soon “we will have normalization and peace agreements, trade agreements, and tourism partnerships.”
