Lufthansa announces resumption of Israel flights on Aug 1

German airline group Lufthansa has announced it plans to resume flights to and from Israel.
The airline group will resume flights starting August 1.
Beyond Lufthansa itself, the Lufthansa Group owns a number of airlines. These include Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, SWISS, and more.
While other airlines owned by the Lufthansa Group are resuming flights on August 1, SWISS flights are not scheduled to operate through Oct. 25.
Many airlines suspended flights to and from Israel after a Houthi missile hit the Ben Gurion airport in early May, and continued suspensions due to the 12-day war between Israel and Iran.
Some airlines have resumed flights, however, “including Flydubai, Etihad Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, Blue Bird, Hainan Airlines, TUS, and Azerbaijan Airlines,” Israel Hayom reported.
The low-cost giant Ryanair announced at the end of last month that it was extending its suspension of flights to and from Israel, citing continued concerns despite the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran.
Ryanair announced “it would not resume flights to and from Israel’s Ben Gurion International Airport before Oct. 25, extending its absence further after previously saying it was suspending those flights through September,” Ynet News reported.
EasyJet and British Airways have also cancelled flights until Oct. 25.
