‘Fauda’ star Idan Amedi blasts anti-war petition by Israeli artists calling to end ‘horrific actions’ of Gaza War
'Fight for one day like tens of thousands of reservists,' Amedi tells artists

Israeli celebrity Idan Amedi, a popular singer and star of the hit TV show ‘Fauda,’ had harsh words for hundreds of fellow Israeli artists who signed a petition calling for an immediate end to the war in Gaza.
Amedi, who was seriously wounded in Gaza while fighting as an IDF reservist, condemned the petition and called those who signed it “disconnected” and “privileged people.”
The actor also warned about the widespread hate for Israel within the Gaza population.
"You are disconnected and spreading fake news,” Amedi wrote in a post to social media. “Every home in Gaza is filled with antisemitic, anti-Jewish propaganda – from images of shahids to stickers saying, 'With blood and fire we will reach Jerusalem.’ A group of privileged people who continue to echo stupidity, ignorance, and lies.”
The petition, titled “Statement from the Cultural Community: Stop the Horror in Gaza,” includes signatures or endorsements from some of Israel’s leading cultural figures, including artists, writers, actors and producers.
The petition accuses Israel of “starving the people of Gaza to death and contemplating the forced removal of millions of Palestinians from the Strip.”
“We, Israelis dedicated to a peaceful future for our country and our Palestinian neighbors, write this with grave shame, in rage and in agony,” it stated.
The petition had also called for soldiers to “disobey illegal orders” and “not commit war crimes.”
“There is no other army in the world that operates in such a densely populated area with such a low civilian casualty rate,” Amedi wrote, rebutting the claims. “This is proven - go check.”
“On a day when we see our brothers in 2025 as ‘Muselmanns’ (a term used by Jewish prisoners in Nazi concentration camps to describe a prisoner starved almost to death) underground digging their own graves – go down into a tunnel. Fight for a day like tens of thousands of reservists, and only then sign petitions,” Amedi wrote. “You're worthless, we’re sick of you.”
Amedi was seriously wounded in Gaza in January 2024, with shrapnel wounds throughout his body. He received months of treatment and therapy before eventually being released and gradually resuming his singing career.
He is expected to join the next season of the hit series ‘Fauda’.
