Israel strikes Hamas underground site in Khan Younis, targeting military head Mohammed Sinwar

Today (on Tuesday), the IDF carried out a significant and targeted strike in Khan Younis, Gaza Strip, with the target being Mohammed Sinwar, leader of Hamas' military wing.
According to assessments, Sinwar was present in the underground facility attacked beneath the European Hospital in the southern Gaza Strip. The IDF and Shin Bet do not yet know whether Sinwar was killed in the strike, but the matter is under investigation. Palestinian sources claim six people were killed. Other senior Hamas officials were also present at the site.
Sinwar is the brother of former Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, who was eliminated by the IDF north of Rafah last October.
Yesterday, the Israel Defense Forces reported that it had struck senior Hamas operatives in a command and control center at Nasser Hospital. According to the IDF, the site was used to plan and execute terrorist operations against Israeli forces and civilians.
Reports from Gaza indicate that among the dead was the Gazan "journalist" Hassan Eslaiah, who had filmed himself participating in the Oct. 7 Hamas invasion of Israel.
In a meeting today with wounded reserve soldiers, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said: “In the coming days, we will move in with full force to complete the operation and defeat Hamas.”
