"Over the past 24 hours, the Air Force completed a series of waves of strikes and blows against targets in various regions across Iran... So far, we have struck over 150 targets and more than 400 distinct components."

"Now I want to reveal a significant wave of strikes that was recently completed," he continued.

"During the night, the Air Force launched a powerful assault using over 70 fighter jets against targets in Tehran, located in the heart of the country. The path to Tehran has been cleared. We attacked over forty missile targets and advanced air defense systems across Iran, alongside additional command and launch infrastructure."

"Our Air Force jets flew for about two and a half hours over Tehran’s skies, alongside unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that operate in the air 24 hours a day, maintaining a presence and aiding in both attack and intelligence gathering. Dozens of aerial platforms are operating freely over Tehran thanks to our initial strikes, which removed many of Iran’s air defense threats."

15:16 - Air Force: Main goals are to degrade Iran's nuclear program & ballistic missile capabilities

Senior Israeli Air Force officials explained in a media briefing that the IDF is trying to create cumulative achievements in strikes on Iran's nuclear industry, its missile capabilities, and the threat to Iran's leadership and national infrastructure.

The most significant success so far is creating freedom of action in the skies above Tehran, they said. The Air Force (IAF) gradually "peels off" the threats one by one, removing surface-to-air missile batteries to pave the way for planes to reach Tehran, which will enable them to destroy every other kind of target.

The senior military officials added that the goal is to hit Iran hard, so that it will bring them back to the negotiations and bring about an excellent agreement.

At this stage, only a small part of the nuclear program was attacked, mainly the enrichment facility in Natanz, which suffered damage described as "very significant," as well as the uranium conversion facility in Isfahan.

Regarding the ballistic missile threat, IAF officials acknowledged that they won't be able to destroy every missile, but aim to disrupt the Iranians' ability to coordinate large barrages by maintaining an air presence over the launch sites.
